Arizona Historical Society

This is a great place to visit with older children. It's a great way to learn about Arizona's history. On the first Saturday of each month the museum admission is Free. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes.

Arizona Sonora Desert Museum is fun for the whole family. It is both indoors and outdoors, mostly outdoors. They do have some shaded areas along the walking paths. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes, a hat and sunglasses.You should also bring along a bottle of water. If you would like to pack a lunch they have a small picnic area near the Museum entrance. They have several tables available, however the area is to be used on a first come first serve basis.

The Arizona State Museum is a great place to visit with older children. No backpacks, satchels, food or drinks are allowed in the exhibition galleries. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes. If you are visiting around lunch there are several grassy areas along Park Ave. with plenty of shade trees for a picnic.

Breakers opens in May each year. We suggest you wear sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. You are allowed to bring your own unopened bottled water. No picnicking allowed. They have plenty of shaded areas to sit and relax. If you are bringing infant children don't forget the swim diapers.

Tombstone is a great place to visit with the whole family. We suggest you wear suncreen and comfortable shoes. They have a bunch of themed resturants to eat at. You can also picnic if you would like.

Colossal Cave is mostly indoors. There is alot of walking. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes. Strollers are not allowed. They have plenty of picnic areas and an onsite resturant.

Flandrau Science Center is fun for all ages. Your children will be learning while having fun. Children under 3 are Free. No backpacks allowed. They do have onsite lockers for a fee.

Funtasticks is a great place for the whole family. During school breaks they have excellent specials. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat. They do not allow any outside food or drink. They do have a nice snack bar with something for everyone.

The International Wildlife Museum is a great place to visit on a hot Tucson day. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes. If you are visiting with small children, you may bring along your stroller.

Kartchner Caverns State Park

Kartchner Caverns State Park is another great place to visit on a hot Tucson day. The cave averages about 68 degrees. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes. No strollers or walkers allowed.

Kitt Peak National Observatory is a great place to visit with older children. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat. Don't forget to bring along chapstick because it gets windy on the mountian. You may bring along a picnic lunch and eat on the mountian or visit the snack bar in the visitors center.

Old Tucson is fun for everyone. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat. They have plenty of places to eat at. If you prefer you may picnic along Gates Pass.

The Reid Park Zoo is fun for all ages. We suggust you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat. No outside food or drinks are allowed. You may bring along bottled water. They have a full service snack bar onsite. If you would rather, you can pack a picnic lunch and eat at the nearby park.

Sabino Canyon is a great place to visit with older children. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat. If you visit during the summer, bring your swim suit. The cool water is refreshing on a hot summer day.

A visit to Mt Lemmon is fun for the whole family. If you visit in the summer you can go hiking, rock climbing, camping, or fishing. If you visit in the winter you can go skiing, snowboarding, sledding or just plan to ride the lift. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat in the summer. Dress in layers during the winter.

Titan Missile Museum is a great place to visit with older children. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat. They have a walking tour and a tram tour. If you are visiting with small children, they offer use of strollers or wagons free of charge.

Tohono Chul Park is fun for the whole family. On the first Tuesday of each month admission to the park is Free. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat.

The Trex Museum is great for kids of all ages. Your children will get the chance to dig for fossils. They even get to keep whatever they find. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes.

Tucson Botanical Gardens is fun for the whole family. We suggest you wear sunscreen, comfortable shoes and a hat.

Tucson's Childrens Museum is fun for everyone. This is a hands on museum. Children are encouraged to touch everything. We suggest you wear comfortable shoes. They have a large grassy area outside if you would like to picnic.
